Take Anatomy Courses Online Introduction to
Human Anatomy NBAN 205 3 credit hours An introductory human anatomy course that uses a combined regional and systemic approach to examine the relationships and organization of the major structures within the thorax, abdomen, head/neck, and back/limbs regions of the body. Students will learn the fundamentals of human anatomy relevant for clinical application. The emphasis of the course is on gross anatomy, with relevant microanatomy taught as needed. A systems approach is used to prepare students to understand relationships among structures that contribute to the functioning of organ systems. A combination of lecture and interactive learning activities will help to develop student knowledge and critical thinking skills as applied to anatomical terminology and concepts. Online Anatomy Lab
NBAN 206 1-2 credit hours An introductory virtual human anatomy lab that complements NBAN 205. Prosections will be shown in each region of the body enabling the organs and structures to be displayed fully and clearly. The one hour lab course will complement NBAN 205 and will be sufficient for most students. The two hour lab course includes additional modules (upper and lower limbs) and will help students interested in preparing for professional schools such as medical, dental or physical therapy. This lab may also be used to complete course requirements for other lecture courses. Prerequisite: One semester of introductory undergraduate biology. A general anatomy course such as NBAN 205 is recommended, which can be taken before or concurrent with the lab course. Syllabus: Click here for NBAN 206 syllabus.
Course Success: The student should be in college now or previously and have completed one semester of college biology. This is a semester-based course with scheduled exams. Students should allow reasonable time for this course depending on their situation (current course load, work schedule, military obligations, etc.).

Enroll via Extended Learning WVU Students

Non-WVU Students
Students outside of WVU can register as a guest student through WVU Extended Learning. Guest students are admitted as non-degree undergraduate students for a single term. The Anatomy courses are offered through the Southern Regional Electronic Board (SREB). All students taking these courses pay in-state tuition. The rates are available here, see guest students using Resident Fees. Check with your institution about the transfer of credit for these courses before registering. The course syllabus is available in the Course Description tab. First: Submit a WVU Guest Application form which can be found here. The application fee is $15. This application must be made at least two weeks before the start of classes. Once students are admitted, they will be notified and will need to register and pay for the course. You may find it helpful to contact Extended Learning at the numbers or e-mail below. The book is needed at the start of the course. Any delay in having your course materials will affect your course performance. Students using the free shipping offer of online vendors have experienced several weeks delay waiting for book delivery and have had to drop the course as a result.
